Shakes are an Icelandic rock band formed in Reykjavik, Iceland 2016. The band consists of Logi Marr (vocals, guitars) and Frank Raven (vocals, guitars). The band will release their debut album “Red Motel” in spring 2017 via Shove it up your cult records in Dewsbury, UK. Shakes will release a 7” vinyl on April 29th 2017 which consists of their two singles “Dreammaker” and “Tonight”.
In August 2016 the Icelandic music veterans decided to form the band Shakes in the hopes to revive rock n´roll in a world full of fake drums and no good melodies. Fed up they wrote the album Red Motel which consists of six songs about sex, drugs and casualties.
The band is influenced by rock n´roll heroes throughout history, colliding classic rock sound with a modern take on the genre.
The band partnered up with a Dewsbury based Indie label called Shove it up your cult records to take the UK by the balls.
